On March 22nd, the 2025 Summit of Key Chinese Wind Energy Equipment Enterprises, which was sponsored by the Wind Energy Equipment Branch of the China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (CAMM) and the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society and organized by WINDEY Co., Ltd., took place in Hangzhou. With the theme of "Collaboration for Breakthrough, Ecological Co-construction", this summit focused on the development opportunities and challenges of the wind power industry during the transition period between the "14th Five-Year Plan" and the "15th Five-Year Plan". Chairman of WINDEY Chen Qi and Deputy General Manager Wei Min were invited to attend this summit, at which the two leaders, together with the guests present, discussed the new technologies and new paths for the future development of wind power, mapping out a new blueprint for the high-quality development of China's wind power.

Chen Qi expressed his gratitude to the Wind Energy Equipment Branch of the China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers (CAMM) and the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society for their efforts in building this platform that facilitates the communication of practitioners in the wind power industry. He also extended a warm welcome to all the experts, scholars, and industry colleagues present at the summit. Chen pointed out that after decades of unremitting efforts against all odds, China's wind power industry has grown from a “follower” to a "pacesetter" in the global green energy revolution, and it has already run at the forefront of the world especially in the industrial chain (supply chain), large-scale generate set, and the cost of energy (COE) of power stations, with exploration for industrial technologies coming into the "Uncharted Zone". However, we should be clearly aware that the wind power equipment, in essence, is aimed at achieving the optimization of the COE throughout its life cycle and the continuous improvement of the wind farm reliability. On account of this, WINDEY has always strictly observed the product development process of "Design -Prototype- Small Batch- Large Scale" to deeply study the underlying logic of wind power technologies, and continuously promoted the establishment of more stringent standard systems, specification systems, design systems, and verification systems that are more suitable for real working conditions and the safety boundaries of large-capacity wind generator set. This helps ensure the coordinated and progressive development of wind power equipment towards "High Quality" and "High Performance", according to Chen.

As China's power system reform gradually steps into the deep-water zone, the industry is transforming from a "policy-driven" to a "market-driven" development pattern. Chen Qi pointed out that wind power equipment enterprises shoulder the mission of promoting the steady and healthy development of the industry. They need to keep upgrading technologies and innovating in business model, for example, they should adopt measures such as technological innovation, intelligent operation and maintenance, and refined management over power stations to bring down the life-cycle costs of new-energy power stations; they should expedite the research and development of new energy power trading and decision-making platforms suitable for the new pattern, improve the power trading capabilities of power stations, realize the dynamic optimization of trading revenues, and cultivate market competitiveness fit for the new-type power system. Chen looks forward to sharing the mission and making common progress together with industry colleagues. He called on industry colleagues to focus on product R&D directions and profit guarantee & price negotiation mechanisms, and grope for the "New Energy +" application scenarios, with a view to jointly building a new pattern for the opening-up of China's wind power industry and promoting the high-quality development of the entire wind power industry.

During the summit, Chen Qi and Wei Min also had in-depth discussions with the guests while centering on the theme of the conference, with topics covering strategic thinking and positioning of the wind power industry during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, directions and trends of technological innovation, construction of industrial ecology and coordinated development, and policies on market-oriented trading of electricity.
