On March 22nd, the “WINDEY Chongyang Shuikeng Distributed Wind Power Project Kick-off & Rural Revitalization Co-construction Launching Ceremony” grandly took place in Guihuaquan Township, Chongyang County. After being completed, the project is expected to generate more than 27.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, bringing down annual carbon dioxide emissions by 27,400 tons, which is equivalent to adding 15,000 mu of ecological forests for the local area. This is not only another milestone of WINDEY after seven years of unremitting efforts in exploitation of Chongyang, but also a vivid corporate practice in further implementing the national initiative “Wind-harnessing Campaign in Thousands of Villages and Towns" and empowering rural revitalization with green energy.
Empowered by Technology to Explore New Paths for the Integration of "Wind Power +"
Under the guidance of the national policies on "Wind-harnessing Campaign in Thousands of Villages and Towns", WINDEY takes technological innovation as the core and injects multiple intelligent elements into the Shuikeng Project--
Eco-friendly Design: the intelligent site selection system helps precisely avoid ecological red lines, low-noise wind turbine and high-tower tube land-saving technology are adopted to minimize the interference with the natural environment;
Smart Energy Network: Equipped with an energy storage system to regulate the power supply and demand; the integration models "Smart Agriculture + Wind Power" and "Wind Power + Ecotourism" are put into trial implementation, guiding villagers to process characteristic agricultural products during the low-tariff period of electricity and “feed” the power grid during the peak period, achieving the goal of "Using upon Wind, Getting Rich for Wind”.
Industrial Integration and Upgrading: work with nearly a hundred vanadium enterprises and a thousand technical elites in the local area to promote the R&D of vanadium battery energy storage technology, extend the industrial chain of "Wind Power + Energy Storage", and build a green, low-carbon circular economic system.
Government-Enterprises Coordination for Jointly Building the "Chongyang Paragon" in Rural Revitalization
As early as 2018, WINDEY signed an agreement for development of distributed wind power project with the Chongyang County Government. In light of the agreement, the government assures the implementation of the project with services that cover the whole cycle, coordinate all elements, and optimize the entire process, while the enterprise supports local development with its capabilities in integration of technologies, funds, and industries. Both sides worked together to explore the closed loop of "Green Energy Development - Benefit Sharing - Industrial Upgrading", providing reproducible "Chongyang Experience" for the economic transformation of resource-based counties.
Today, the Dongyue and Xiaoling projects in Chongyang have been successfully connected to the grid and put into operation as scheduled. The power generation income from the two projects not just directly funds local villagers and becomes a stable source for income increase, but supports the development of countryside while ensuring the long-term benefits of the villagers. This helps to upgrade the infrastructure and improve the living environment, living up to the real transformation from "Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains" into the "Fulcrum of Happiness".
Xu Wang, deputy secretary of the CPC Chongyang County Committee and mayor of Chongyang County, noted that the common development of WINDEY and Chongyang is a paragon of joint efforts with "Passion, Diligence, Speed".
Tian Ye, deputy secretary-general of the Wind Energy Professional Committee of the Chinese Renewable Energy Society, praised this cooperation as a benchmark case for implementing the national initiative "Wind-harnessing Campaign in Thousands of Villages and Towns" and also an answer sheet of the times for “Empowering Rural Revitalization with Green Energy”.
From Dongyue and Xiaoling to Shuikeng, every step of WINDEY in Chongyang has exemplified the Company’s perseverance in staying true to its promise "Benefiting the People with Green Energy".
