【Wind Vane】Led by WINDEY! The Official Launch of the Preparation of Two National Standards

Time:2025-03-03 Number:0 From:Windey

On February 27th, the kick-off meeting for two national standards, namely Wind Power Generation System-Wind Turbine Generator Sets under Typhoon Condition and Wind Power Generation System-Technical Specification for Environmental Monitoring System of Offshore Wind Turbine Generator Sets, took place in Hangzhou, and WINDEY led the preparation of the two national standards. It’s worth pointing out that the revision and implementation of the two standards will further improve China’s technological level in typhoon-prone areas and the offshore wind power field, strengthen the adaptability and safety of the generator sets under extreme environments, and promote the standardized and normalized development of the wind power industry.

As the leading unit in formulation of the standards, WINDEY gave a comprehensive report on the standards’ purpose and significance, main contents, and compilation plan. Herein, the revision of the standard Wind Power Generation System-Wind Turbine Generator Sets under Typhoon Condition will clarify the technical requirements such as typhoon wind conditions and typhoon working conditions, with the focus on improving the generator sets’ typhoon-resistant ability, structural strength and operational stability, and providing an important guiding basis for China’s research and development of typhoon-resistant wind turbine generator sets. It is of great significance for further standardizing the industry development, improving the technological level, and ensuring the safe and stable operation of wind power equipment in complex environments. The standard Wind Power Generation System-Technical Specification for Environmental Monitoring System of Offshore Wind Turbine Generator Sets will clarify the offshore environmental monitoring system’s components and functions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and packaging and transportation etc., providing a scientific basis for offshore wind turbine generator sets’ environmental monitoring, fault alarm, and operation and maintenance decisions, filling China’s gap in the field of offshore wind power environmental monitoring standards.

The experts present at the meeting had in-depth discussions on the draft standards, put forward valuable opinions and suggestions, and further clarified the standards’ applicable scope, chapters, framework etc. Next, under the guidance of the National Technical Committee 50 on Wind Energy Generation Systems of Standardization Administration of China (hereinafter referred to as SAC TAC50), WINDEY will actively organize the working group to carry out the standard preparation work and strive to complete the standard preparation work at high quality within the given time.

The meeting was chaired by Ren Jun, secretary-general of SAC TAC50, and attended by nearly 80 experts and representatives from more than 40 organizations including wind power equipment manufacturers, wind power developers, testing and certification institutions and scientific research institutes.
